Agreed. I’m most alive when I’m with my few closest friends and family. In a society that seems to celebrate constant extroversion, it takes effort, self awareness, and confidence to say “my few closest friends here are all I need.” But often those are the ones who truly matter. Happy birthday!

Sooooo spot on! I came to this realization maybe 5 to 10 years ago. It’s not necessarily that some people are not nice to interact with, but you get to a point where you really only want to deeply interact and spend your free time with those that reciprocate. Both sides have to participate and feel the value of what the other is providing, which in the end is what is most satisfying. Following that framework has made going out with our core friends so much more enjoyable over the past several years. No more one-way streets for us. Great article Jason!

Thanks, Grant! That's stated really well - thanks for sharing. Now I just need to continue to get better about following this advice.
