I enjoy the pictures taken along the way and your posts. The videos were nice, but I prefer this format, especially if it allows you more to enjoy your experience.
I used to take my headphones on my daily walk but found them to be distracting from my thoughts and I was missing all the great sounds of nature . Walks are a great place to think, plan and just enjoy. Pictures you have taken are fantastic .
So true! I’ve decided that headphones are for when I’m walking TO something like the store, work, etc. if I am walking to walk, no headphones. Thanks! I’m glad you like them
To Fritz's comment that it's almost like we're walking with you...I am not ashamed to admit that reading your blog makes me itch to continue our journey now! (planned for fall 2026...)
When we last walked (i was 49), some said we would not live the true camino unless we slept in the dorms. Having hosteled a lot in our youth, we opted for good sleep: in private rooms in albergues where we could participate in the communal dinner, or small apartments (cook and pack leftovers the next day!) and the occasional hotel.
Your mini-UN has one advantange over the real one: no veto rights!
Thanks., Rene! We are well aligned. As the saying goes, you need to walk your own Camino. The camaraderie in alburgues is nice of course, but it’s not “the way”. for me it’s more of a lovely support system and expression of community spirit. For me, the walk itself is most important. This is where the personal growth takes place for me.
Time together, time alone. There's value in both. Loving this series of posts on your adventure, almost feels like I'm walking with you...except when you're walking alone. Wink. Hoping the sun comes out soon, I'm getting tired of all of this rain...
Indeed! Great to hear from you, Fritz. That makes two of us re: the rain. I see clear skies in the forecast next week but I wouldn’t mind at all if they came sooner 😆

I truly understand the need for peace and quiet at night as I age lol. Truly love living vicariously through your blog posts.
